Each month our editorial team selects a handful of films for the Staff Picks collection — our highest form of recognition. Picks are featured with a personal video introduction from the Cineava team, promoted across our social channels, and archived as part of Cineava's permanent curated catalogue.
Staff Picks eligibility opens with the Filmmaker tier and above. Selection is purely editorial — based on craft, vision, and originality. There is no application process; our team watches everything.

Yes, absolutely. Cineava is designed to complement your existing online presence, not replace it. Many filmmakers use us alongside their Vimeo or YouTube channels to reach a dedicated short film audience.
We'll let you know via email with brief feedback. Free tier applicants are welcome to resubmit after making changes. Paid tier subscribers retain their account and can submit a different film at any time.
Our editorial team watches every film submitted by Filmmaker and Pro subscribers. There's no separate application — if your film stands out for its craft, originality, or storytelling, you'll be contacted directly. We announce new picks on the first of every month.
Yes, you can upgrade from Emerging to Filmmaker or Pro at any time. Your existing film listing carries over and your profile is enhanced immediately. Annual plans are prorated if upgrading mid-cycle.
We consider films up to 40 minutes in length. The sweet spot for our audience is 5–20 minutes, but we evaluate each submission on its merits regardless of runtime.
